The gift establishes the endowed “The Fielding Family Chief Executive Officer” position and serves as the founding investment in TreePeople’s Leadership Circle, a philanthropic initiative that supports the recruitment, retention, and development of strong, mission-driven nonprofit leadership.
“Strong organizations require strong leadership. TreePeople’s work has never been more important, and we are proud to help build a lasting foundation that will support the organization’s mission and leadership for generations to come.”
- Karin and Jonathan Fielding
“We are deeply grateful to Karin and Jonathan Fielding for their remarkable $4 million investment in TreePeople’s future.Their vision not only establishes a permanent CEO endowment but also affirms the importance of bold, sustained leadership at a time when our mission has never been more urgent.”
- Dr. Cassie Rauser, The Fielding Family Chief Executive Officer of TreePeople
“This marks a major inflection point for TreePeople. We have never received a donation of this type, nor have we ever named a senior leadership role after a donor family. Quite frankly, the Fieldings’ gift is transformative. TreePeople will never be the same.”
- John D. Bunzel, Chair of the TreePeople Board of Directors
As supporters of the Leadership Endowment Fund, donors become members of TreePeople’s Leadership Circle, a philanthropic community dedicated to investing in the organization's long-term strength, resilience, and leadership capacity. Donors contributing to the fund would have the option to either designate their gifts to support a specific Leadership Position or have them designated more generally.

TreePeople Leadership Circle
Founded in 1973 from the vision of a teenager determined to restore Los Angeles’ forests, TreePeople has grown into a regional leader in restoring landscapes and cultivating environmental stewardship. Guided by the belief that trees need people and people need trees, TreePeople brings communities together to plant and care for trees in mountains, neighborhoods, schools, and parks – creating cooler streets, healthier ecosystems, and resilient communities across the region. With hundreds of thousands of volunteers engaged and millions of trees planted, TreePeople continues to grow solutions that help people and nature thrive together. Learn more at treepeople.org.
